Beyond Thinking

Beyond Thinking

“Wow! this will be an amazing idea,” I say to myself when ideas first come. Months down the line, however, I discover the idea is no longer cool and have trashed it. A similar thing would have happened with this blog if I was not conscious to get to the root of the problem.  Upon my reflection as to why most of the ideas I thought where great at first but later became bad ideas was because I overthought them. Thinking alone only leads to more thinking. It is not ok to jump into anything without first thinking about it. Sometimes however you can overthink things to the point you do nothing about it and the idea just stays in a state of thinking that produced no results.

Nobody will pay you without results. There is a stage beyond conception and staying in conception more than necessary will make your doubt yourself and your ideas to a point that you may shelve them thinking they are bad.  It will never be good enough if you remain at conception. Get to implementing. Implementation is the stage where what was once just a thought exists in the physical world. Implementation is when your thoughts are creating real change, improvement and advancement to your personal life, organization, community, nation and the world at large.    I have come to discover that, ideas I don’t implement fizzles out over time and that fire with which the idea first came no longer remains. To sustain that fire, don’t dwell too much on the thinking. Think, refine, evolve and keep doing (implementing). The joy of seeing the idea coming to life even with the imperfections will motivate you to keep going. You don’t want to see another person implementing the idea you thought about but remained thinking while someone else has gone ahead to implement it.  Perfection is not a destination but a process you daily work towards.

Thank you for posting this. It is excellent. I have read dissertations of African students studying the same problem over and over again and doing nothing. It drives me crazy, the inaction. There are competent people in Africa who can implement. Why don’t they do it? So many students research a problem to death and do nothing. Why? Is it fear? What are the excuses? I know these people and they are smart if they make the choice to implement. I am so glad you wrote this article. Wake up Africa you have the ability to do this. Sorry for my passion for the youth but they are the future of Africa.

with this. In addition, the blog loads super quick for me
    on Opera. Outstanding Blog!
