Everyone dreams of changing the world but only a few get down to the actual doing. Stop trying to change the world because you can’t (Of course, you can but not in societies majority notion as presently constituted). There are so many things wrong with the world that it becomes hard to pick what to fix and dedicate your energy into. The more you try, the more overwhelmed you will become and in that state, instead of doing something you end up doing nothing. John C. Maxwell said: “Most people want to change the world to improve their lives, but the world they need to change first is the one inside themselves.” Everyone has an opinion on what is wrong with the world, yet few will do the work to improve their own lives.

Rather than try to change the world, work on becoming your best self. In being your best self, you will inspire others to be their best self. The effect is one that compounds and with time, gradually we change the world. In seeking out to be your best self, you will find what you are skilled and talented with, that becomes your contribution to the world and you keep being the best at it with excellence and a growth mindset. The only thing we can truly fix is ourselves. You can’t fix anyone else. The more we fix ourselves personally, the more the world becomes a better place. One person alone can’t change the world but one person can make a difference.
Stop competing to be other people. You know nothing about what’s going on with people except what’s going on in the picture (that one on social media you are using to compare yourself to them) — and that can leave out a lot of significant contexts. You are your competition and no one else. As you compete with your past results and achievement, keep aiming higher and pushing your boundaries of possibilities on your terms not in comparison to another.
In your journey of becoming your best self, you inspire others through your actions, to also build themselves and be their best selves. The world is paying attention to your action. The world may not say anything right now but be rest assured they are watching you. As other people begin to see the results through the transformation in you, it will call them to a place of questioning what capabilities they have that they have caged with limiting beliefs.
You do not want to go through life and joining those complaining nothing is working without actually doing something to be a solution. The task of changing the world seems an unsurmountable task because so many things may be out of our control. However, the task of personal growth and development is one within your control and the best way to change the world is to change yourself.
