Planning Ahead is Not A Crime

Your account balance may currently be in the red zone but nobody was ever arrested for planning for the future. Let me let you in on a secret,  some people think I am this rich billionaire that always has money when you ask – yes I am getting there-  but I am not there yet. That I do not yet have all the resources I need has not stopped me from planning for the future.

You see in 2010, over 1 million naira was deposited into my account after my wrongful arrest. I was meant to hand over that cash to my dad but instead, I acted foolishly in lying about it. I had no sense and squander almost the whole thing and was even looking for someone to validate my foolishness. I made some few investments then that helped to reshape my mind and set me on the track I am currently on. After that incidence, sense came into me but money to implement the sense was nowhere to be found. God needed to take me through a process of complete transformation from the young man that always wanted the latest gadget to a man that is not moved by material possession. I am now on a quest to become all God potentiated me with while inspiring others to do the same.  One lesson that has stayed with me for life from that experience is to plan for success even before it comes. I am not a billionaire yet but I plan for investments like a billionaire and start with the little I have now as I build towards the billions. The motive is not to be known as a billionaire or any external validation rather,  it is to scale my impact and help other people succeed while being a good steward of the resources and wealth God commits to my care.

My point is this, do not wait until you are successful to start planning for how you will make good use of your big break when it comes, you may waste it and not be privileged to gain such again.   Before I ever made my first investment into a mutual fund account and the stock market, I was taking classes and reading about investment and people or places I dream of working with or engaging in the future, I keep close contact with them. Keep dreaming but as you dream, back it up with the little action you can take now as you grow towards bigger action. You can start skilling yourself now for that future role, you can start designing the house you want to build in the future. You can start building the kind of character required to stay true to your values and principles beginning right now. Keep researching and fine-tuning your plans and never get tired of praying. Pray as though it all depends on God and also take action as though it all depends on your action. Keep knocking on doors, you are rejected, try again. Your breakthrough will come but it will be a shame that it comes when you did not plan for it. I have come to realize that what you don’t plan and prepare for internally first, should it be manifested externally will catch up to the internal in a matter of time.  Get to planning but even more important is to do something daily that moves you towards your plans.
